With televisions, Flipkart re-enters large
appliances market nearly a year after it was forced to withdraw these products

Flipkart.com said it started selling televisions on its site, as it re-enters
the large appliances category nearly a year after it was forced to withdraw
these products because of inconsistency in delivering them to customers.
“Large appliances is a huge market in the
country,” said Kalyan Krishnamurthy, senior vice-president, retail, at
Flipkart. “With this launch, we look forward to delighting customers with a
large selection, competitive prices and an exceptional post-order service
experience. We will be adding many more products and verticals in the coming
months.”
Flipkart has raised some $560 million from
investors including Accel Partners, Naspers Ltd and Tiger Global Management Llc
since its launch in 2007 as an online book seller.
